Lehigh Acres resident Keith Richter — a member of the Lehigh Community Planning Corporation — announced his candidacy late Tuesday for the State House of Representatives, District 72 seat.

Richter owns Computer Solutions of Southwest Florida Inc. and is a former public school teacher in Lee, Glades, and Hendry counties and is currently teaching at Hodges University in Fort Myers.Richter, who is married and has three children, said he made his decision to run for the seat after talking it over with his family.With growth, taxation and insurance issues on people's minds, Richter said he believes he can work with the other elected officials to find practical solutions that make sense to all citizens.

Richter is a graduate from Riverdale High School in Fort Myers and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida He also served in the U.S. Marine Corp for six years and is a disabled veteran. He served a term on the Lee County Board of Veteran Affairs from 1994-1998. He is currently a member of American Legion Post 323, and an active life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 94.
